ANF foils heroin smuggling attempt at Sialkot airport, arrests one

SIALKOT: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested a passenger for trying to smuggle heroin abroad from Sialkot International Airport.

According to ANF officials, Zulifqar, a resident of Khushab, was trying to smuggle heroin to Saudia Arabia.

According to the management of the Sialkot International Airport, Zulifqar was trying to smuggle heroin to Saudia Arabia by travelling through an international airline (Qatar Airlines) in the guise of a passenger. However, the ANF officials detected heroin secretly kept in the hidden parts of his bags.

The worth of the seized heroin is stated to be in millions of the rupees in the international market. The ANF has arrested the accused and sent him to jail after registering a case against him. Further investigations are underway.

It was the fourth major attempt of narcotics smuggling from Sialkot airport to different foreign destinations, which was foiled by the ANF.
