ANF recovers drugs worth of Rs 291.5 million; arrest 12 drug peddlers

ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 106.3 kg charas, 6943 psychotropic tablets, 800 grams heroin and 300 grams opium arresting 12 drug traffickers.

ANF in its drive against drug trafficking conducted five operations across the country, said a press release.

The total value of recovered drugs approximately amounts to Rs. 291.5 million in international market.

According to details, ANF Rawalpindi on pursuance of an intelligence report, raided a Hill View Hotel, seized 6943 psychotropic tablets and arrested 4 persons namely Anjum, Aftab, Khalid and Imran. The value of the seized tablets amounts approximately to Rs 25 million in international Market.

ANF Karachi on pursuance of an information, raided a premises located at Jam Goth, Gadap Town, Malir and seized 100 kg charas.

During operation, 5 persons namely as Shakeel Ahmed, Abdul Rashid, Irfan, Muhammad Umar and Shoukat Ali, all residents of Malir, were taken into custody for investigation. As per preliminary investigations, the place was being used as a drug den.

ANF Karachi carried out another raid at a place situated in Cattle Colony, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad and recovered 4.2 kg charas and 300 gram opium from personal possession of an accused namely Abdul Sattar Alias Kalu, resident of Tando Muhammad Khan. As per reports, the accused is involved in local drug peddling.

ANF Karachi arrested a local drug peddler namely Raheem Shah, resident of Mardan and recovered 2.1 kg charas from his personal possession. He was arrested during an operation conducted at Ali Goth near Landhi, Karachi.

ANF Peshawar Airport team during routine checking at Peshawar airport detained a passenger namely Haseeb Jan, resident of Peshawar. During search of his luggage, 141 heroin filled capsules weighing 800 grams heroin were recovered, which were concealed in his trolley bag. He intended to board for Abu Dhabi by PIA Flight No.PK-351.

Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
