ISLAMABAD: The Customs Appellate Tribunal Bench-II has reserved decisions of two custom cases challenging verdict given by the field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
A single bench of the Customs Appellate Tribunal comprising Muhammad Maqsood ul Hassan (Member Judicial) heard the cases filed by M/s United Mobile and M/s Attock Enterprises after parties involved completed arguments.
M/s United Mobile had filed customs case against Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation, Islamabad. Deputy Director Customs Intelligence was made respondent in the cases. M/s United Mobile, through its appeal, 139/CU/IB/2015, had sought release of 160 mobiles which were seized by DG Customs Intelligence, Islamabad.
Other case whose decision had been reserved was filed by M/s Attock Enterprises. The appellant had challenged Customs Collectorate’s decision before the bench-II of customs appellate tribunal. It had pleaded the tribunal to provide relief against penalization by the department authorities.
Meanwhile, the tribunal also adjourned hearing of a case filed by M/s Madni Poly Tex. The company had challenged Customs Collectorate’s decision in which it had imposed a penalty over the company for not paying duty.
