 Australian dollar stronger against major currencies

SYDNEY: The Australian dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Thursday.

The Australian dollar rose to near 2-week highs of 92.65 against the yen and 1.3999 against the euro, from yesterday’s closing quotes of 92.27 and 1.4024, respectively.

The aussie, which ended yesterday’s deals at 0.9637 against the Canadian dollar appreciated to an 8-day high of 0.9668.

Against the U.S. and the New Zealand dollars, the aussie edged up to 0.7702 and 1.0187 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 0.7683 and 1.0162, respectively.

If the aussie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 94.90 against the yen, 1.37 against the euro, 0.99 against the loonie, 0.79 against the greenback and 1.05 against the kiwi.
