VIENNA: A group of Austrian counterparts recently had a meeting with government officials from Sverdlovsk for the discussion and beginning of current and future business projects.
Russian Prime Minister Denis Pasler said trade between Austria and the Sverdlovsk region increased by 90 percent in just nine months, benefiting both parties.
Sverdlovsk and Austria have successfully completed several projects, including constructing the rolling mill at the Kamensk metallurgical plant, building three new stores in Himparke at Nizhny Tagil, creating a small aircraft with the Ural Works of Civil Aviation and increasing Irbit’s cheese-making production.
Richard Schenz, vice president of the Federal Economic Chamber of Austria, reassured Pasler that Austria supports the Russian Federation. He stated that his nation disagrees with the sanctions placed against Russia by Western countries as well as Russia’s retaliation against the sanctions.
Schenz and others in Austria agree that Russia is an important economic, cultural and scientific partner for their country.
Officials hope to make additional agreements for future economic growth. They see this as a chance to localize their joint ventures and develop new businesses.
Attendees at the meeting also included Valentin Gripas, deputy prime minister; Nikolai Sobolev, of Energy and Utilities; Andrew Misura, of Industry and Science; Andrey Sobolev, minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations; Mikahil Hooves, for agriculture and food; Hubert Birch, the holding owner of Birch; and Dietmar Fellner, commercial counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in the Russian Federation.
