KARACHI: The Special Recovery Cell (SRC) of Model Customs Collectorate-MCC Exports has issued bank account attachment notice to the proprietor of Silver Leaves Manufacturers, Karachi, for not paying the government dues along with penalty of amounting to Rs 260 million.
Assistant Collector of Customs Dr Jam Muhammad Imran, while following the directives of Collector-MCC Exports Manzoor Memon, has issued the bank account attachment notice to Silver Leaves Manufactures under Section 48(I) (CA) of the Sales Tax 1990.
The authorities concerned of MCC-Exports on urgent basis sent bank account notices against the M/s Silver Leaves Manufactures to the following bank branches including JS Bank, Korangi Industrial Area; Bank Al-Habib Ocean Center Talpur Road; Habib Bank Limited (Head Office) in short recovery of the government dues, where the bank accounts of the proprietor of M/s Silver Leaves Manufacturing existed.
As per details, government dues amounting to Rs4397011 along with the penalty which makes the total amount to Rs266486763 in addition with the leviable surcharges have been detected against the M/s Silver Leaves Manufacturers.
In the notice, it was stated that the authorities concerned of MCC-Exports Collectorate in the light of the conferred powers under Section 48(I) (CA) Sales Tax Act, 1990 has been served against the importer M/s Silver Leaves Manufactures and authorize to attach the bank accounts of the above named registered persons with immediate effect till the recoverable amount is paid or recovered in full.
In the notice, it was further requested that to attach the bank account of the above registered person with immediate effect under intimation to this office and also inform the actual balance amount available in the aforesaid account, so that the same may be transferred to the government exchequer.
It is pertinent to mention here that the MCC-Export in its recovery campaign against the defaulters has already issued numbers of attachment notices of the bank account in order to recover the legitimate government exchequer and also recovered millions of rupees during the campaign.
