TOKYO: Blizzard has introduced the new WoW Tokens system in their MMO, World of Warcraft. Players can now buy WoW Tokens from the in-game store, for £15 / €20. These tokens can then be sold at the auction house to other players for 35,000 gold coins.

The gold price will then vary from server to server, depending on supply and demand. There is a limit to the number of WoW Tokens a player can buy with real money up to ten every thirty days. Each WoW Token, when used, ensures an additional thirty days of playtime, replacing one month subscriptions, which cost £9.99 / €12.99.

The goal for this system, according to Blizzard, is to allow players to exchange real money for in-game gold, or allow players with a lot of gold to exchange their excess for game time. You can find more information on how the Tokens work over at the official WoW site.
