Business advisory council will be formed to strengthen govt-private sector partnership: Dar

KARACHI: The Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar has said that a business advisory council will be formed to strengthen the government-private sector partnership.

In a meeting with members of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Karachi on Thursday, the minister said that the economic advisory council has already been formed that is effectively working.

The Finance Minister said that the exports of the country make 10 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) which should be at least 15 percent of the GDP.

Ishaq Dar said that the government has set up a Tax Reforms Commission and the agenda will be completed along with the private sector representatives.

The minister said that the government has also started work on the next financial year budget and it will be finalized after due consultation with the business community’s representative bodies.
