TORONTO: The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced that officers have seized 781.80 grams of suspected cocaine at the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.
The narcotics were seized on March 2, 2015 during an aircraft exam where CBSA officers found two cylinder-shaped bricks containing the suspected cocaine concealed inside the aircraft cabin.
The narcotics were turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) “D” Division. The CBSA is working with the RCMP on this ongoing investigation.
This is the first significant drug seizure of the year at the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.
The CBSA and the RCMP work together to prevent illegal drug smuggling that endangers the safety of Canadian communities and generates profits for organized crime.
