Chief Collector Appraisement South to appoint three special prosecutors

KARACHI: Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement South Abdul Rashid Sheikh is likely to appoint three special prosecutors in Customs, Taxation and Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) at different stations.

In a letter, Deputy Collector of Customs Law Branch Muhammad Shahzad has forwarded three names of senior advocates to the chief collector for approval.

“As desired, this Collectorate proposes following three counsels who meets the criteria as given in the board’s letter”, says the letter available with Customs Today.

The counsels whose names have been proposed are Muhammad Khalil Dogar, advocate Supreme Court, Aqil Ahmed, advocate High Court and Raja Babar Hameed, advocate Sindh High Court.

It is necessary to mention here that Chief Collector of Appraisement South is taking this step to fight the customs cases pending in courts.
