Chief Collector North Sarwat Tahira Habib appreciates performance of Customs Sialkot

SIALKOT: Chief Collector North Sarwat Tahira Habib said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is optimistic that Customs Collectorate Sialkot will definitely surpass the revenue collection target set for Fiscal Year 2016-17.

She expressed these views during her visit to Customs Sialkot. She said that Sialkot Collectorate achieved last year’s revenue collection target due to outstanding performance of their entire team. She said that FBR Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan has appreciated the performance of Customs Sialkot for surpassing revenue collection target of FY2015-16.

Chief Collector North Sarwat Tahira Habib presided over a special meeting which was attended by Collector Ahmed Reza Khan while Additional Collector Faiz Ali, Deputy Collectors Waheed Anwar Abro and Muhammad Hanif Assistant Collectors Fahad Bashir Chaudhary and Mohtahsin Minhas Superintendents Sardar Manzoor, Sohail Butt, Syer Jarar, Muhammad Jaan and Muhammad Afzal Raza Principal Appraiser Abdul Hameed and others were present during the meeting.

She urged all the officials of the Collectorate to take measures to extend facilities to importers of Sialkot. She said that Sialkot importers are playing vital role for strengthening national economy. She said that strong economy of any country is vital for progress and prosperity. Chief Collector North said that FBR will extend all out support to Sialkot Customs for achieving revenue collection target of current Fiscal Year 2016-17. She urged the staff of the Collectorate to use all available resources to curb smuggling in the region. She said that due to latest techniques adopted by customs department a decrease is being witnessed in smuggling attempts.
