BEIJING: China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite Index has plunged more than five per cent in afternoon trade, slumping 252.57 points, or 5.58 per cent, to 4,275.21.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, was down 7.25 per cent on Friday, or 197.01 points, at 2,519.70.
