China to launch low-altitude Airspace in 2015

SHANGHAI: The air travel management systems said that the airspace of more than ten regions across the country below 1,000 meters will be open to general aviation flights, including all flights other than military, scheduled airline and regular cargo flights, both private and commercial.

In detail the ten regions include Guangzhou flight, Qingdao, Shenyang flight control zone, Tangshan, Changchun, control zone, Xi’an, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Kunming, Chongqing and Hainan Island.

Relaxations of the ban on practice of low-altitude airspace in 2010, the central government had announced but never provide a certain schedule. The latest report finalized for low-altitude private and commercial flights.

It will also draw global giants to spin into China. This policy will promote the development of aviation manufacture, air control and operation, aircraft maintenance and personnel training industries. China has 189 ventures opening to air travel who own 1654 aircrafts in total at present.

Vice director of China’s Civil Aviation Administration Wang Zhiqing said China is expected to have more than 5,000 civil aircraft and two million hour flight times per year by 2020 With the opening of low-altitude airspace.
