BRASILIA: Following a month and a half of “Sales Events”, Xiaomi has announced it will open the sale of its products in Brazil to the general public from 25 August. Until now, users interested in purchasing the Redmi 2, the only smartphone launched by the company in the country, needed to sign up and enter the Sales Events, which took place only once a week at a pre-determined time. The Redmi 2 (available for BRL 499) and the Mi Power Bank charger (BRL 99) can now be purchased at any time via the company’s online store. Xiaomi also announced that the Sales Events will continue to take place for the launch of new products in Brazil.
