LONDON: Climate change will have a dramatic impact on marine life by the end of the century, a new study suggests.
A PAPER co-authored by 10 global scientists including University of Sunshine Coast researcher Dr Dave Schoeman predicts that by 2100 there will be mass losses of species in waters near the equator, while biodiversity will increase in other regions.
“Our modelling suggests that there is still time to act to prevent major climate-related biodiversity loss outside the tropics,” Associate Professor Schoeman said.
