Collector Irfan Javed’s Quetta Customs seizes smuggled goods worth Rs300m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) with the assistance of Frontier (FC) Corps Balochistan has seized smuggled goods worth Rs300 million from compound at Sherinab area of Lakpass .

Sources told that Collector Preventive Irfan Javed directed anti-smuggling squads comprising Additional Collector Yasir Wahab Kalwer, Deputy Collector Akber Jaan, Superintendent Tariq Sultan and Inspector Shehzad Akbar to adopt comprehensive policy against smuggling and also enhance vigilance on the suspected routes to thwart any attempt of smuggling.

 

As a result of strengthened intelligence network and monitoring of all suspected routes, Customs (E&C) Chaman of MCC seized large quantity of foreign origin spices and almonds 18, 670 kilograms along with two transporting vehicles. The value of seized goods is Rs24 million.

 

Moreover, Customs Check Post, Darakshan-Bolan of MCC (Enforcement & Compliance), Quetta with the assistance of Frontier Corps Balochistan seized large quantity of betel nut 67,600 kilograms, base oil, Chinese salt, milk powder etc. along with five trucks. The value of seized goods is Rs102 million.

Two FIRs have been registered and further legal proceedings are underway.
