Collector Mukarram Jah for improving services, curbing tax evasion

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Port Qasim Collector Mukarram Jah has directed the officials to improve services, besides detecting mis-declaration and under-invoicing in order to stop leakage of revenues.

He issued the direction while holding a meeting of senior officers of the collectorate to discuss various issues. Additional collectors, deputy collectors and assistant collectors were present in the meeting.

The issues pertaining to the clearance of imported consignments, examination procedure, revenue collection, tax evasion and mis-declaration came under discussion.

Collector Mukarram Jah has directed the authorities concerned of the collectorate to improve the services at appraising hall and examination procedure in order to ensure smooth clearance of the imported consignments.

The collector also directed to keep vigilant eye on mis-declaration and tax evasion matters in order to enhance revenue generation of the collectorate.

“The performance of Collectorate of Intelligence Unit (CIU) should be enhanced further, as it is playing an important role in detecting tax evasion and under-invoicing in imported consignments,” the collector asserted.
