NEW YORK: A 6 year old Cranston boy was characteristic prominently in a Microsoft Super Bowl commercial ad showcasing his prosthetic legs.
Braylon O’Neill could be seen on prime time during the big game running, jumping, golfing and playing tennis on specially made prosthetic limbs. Braylon was born without the bones in his lower legs and was fitted for prosthetics at 11-months.
The young boy was seen briefly in a Microsoft ad in last year’s Super Bowl, but according to his mother Kelly O’Neill the company said it wanted to come back and showcase Braylon’s story.
“Every couple of months they would send an email checking to see how he was doing and they had always alluded to the fact that they wanted to do something special to focus on Braylon and his story and then we found out literally a week ago that they were doing this,” said O’Neill.
O’Neill told the WPRO Morning News with Gene Valicenti they decided to surprise Braylon by not telling him he would be on TV.
“He had seen the commercial but we told him we weren’t sure if it was going to be on TV or it was going to be on the internet,” said O’Neill.
O’Neill said after the commercial aired her phone was flooded with text messages.
The ad is currently ranked fourth in terms of popularity based on USA Today’s ad tracker.
