HAVANA: Rodolfo Nin Novoa, Foreign Minister of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, ratified on Thursday in this capital the interest of his country in strengthening bilateral ties with Cuba.
During the meeting with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, Nin Novoa said that political relations between the two countries are excellent, in addition to sharing values such as peace, global security and integration of the peoples.
Rodriguez Parrilla reaffirmed the island’s willingness to maintain and deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade, science, culture, sports and the economy.
As part of activities included in the visitor’s working agenda, Rodolfo Nin Novoa held talks on Wednesday with Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers.
A meeting with Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister for Foreign Trade and Investment, is also expected to take place.
