Cuba, US agree to keep holding meetings on drug trafficking

HAVANA: Delegations from Cuba and the United States held a technical meeting Tuesday in Washington on the fight on drug trafficking and they agreed on the importance of bilateral cooperation in the area and the signing of accords.
According to a press release by the Cuban embassy in D.C., the two sides also stressed the need to formalize the exchange against drug trafficking in an effort to neutralize the actions of traffickers.
The meeting was marked by mutual respect and professionalism and it was headed by the director of bilateral affairs at the United States Division of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Yuri Gala and by the coordinator of the Cuban Affairs Office at the US Stated Department Mark Wells.
The two delegations agreed to keep holding this kind of meetings in the future. Cuba proposed to host the next encounter in 2016, in Havana.
