Customs Adjudication fails to submit record of cases to FBR due to shortage of staff

KARACHI: Despite several reminders, the Collectorates of Customs Adjudication have failed to submit record of the revenue cases to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The sources informed Customs Today that the authorities concerned of the Collectorates of Customs Adjudication have got the directives by the Member Customs to produce a list of the decided cases, pending cases and detail of revenue involved in those cases from July-2014, but the adjudication authorities have failed to produce the same within the stipulated time frame.

The sources informed this scribe that the authorities concerned of the Collectorates of Customs Adjudication were striving hard to compile the required data by the start of next month and to produce the same before the FBR authorities concerned.

To a query, the sources revealed this scribe that the shortage of manpower in both the Collectorates is causing delay in compiling the data.
