Customs, ASO examine more than 300 vehicles on Layyah check-post in two days

MULTAN: Anti Smuggling Organization and Customs Intelligence and Investigation have examined more than 300 vehicles on Layyah Check points in the last two days. The Customs newly established check-posts for the search of non-duty paid imported vehicles or tempered vehicles is an effort to curb smuggling.

Anti Smuggling Organization Inspector, Abdul Samad is performing his duty with army in the joint operation against smugglers and smuggled goods in this region. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Inspector Umer is also deputed at Layyah Check post.

During search near Layyah, Anti Smuggling Organization has checked more than 300 vehicles but all were proved legal as authentic documents were provided from all the owners of searched vehicles.

An officer deployed at check-post said that Due to the deployment of staff and effective monitoring from Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Anti Smuggling Organization, Excise and Taxation Department, Police along with Army the smugglers are avoiding these routes.

Mean While Major General Hasnaat has also visited checkpoints of the army with Customs and Excise to monitor the examination route.
