LAHORE: A flag hoisting ceremony in connection with the Independence Day was held at the Customs House Nabha Road to commemorate the sacrifices of the martyrs in the struggle for achieving Pakistan.
A large number of customs officers including Central Regional Chief Collector of Customs Samaira Nazir Khan, Collector Customs Preventive Zulfiqar Younas performed flag hoisting on the occasion.
The Customs House was decorated with lights and festooned mini-flags all across the House that gave a unique look.
After the flag hoisting and prayers for the martyrs of the Pakistan movement, Customs troops saluted the flag and performed parade while Customs Superintendent Shahzad presented national song.
Multan Customs Collector Sarfraz Warrich, Customs Appraisemnt Collector Muhammad Sadiq, Adjudication Collector Zafar Iqbal, former member Customs Abdul Wadood Khan, Hussain Ahmad Sherazi, Additional Collector Customs Jamil Nasir, Additional Collector Nayyer Shafique, Additional Collector Noreen Trarar, Assistant Collector Dr Adnan, Assistant Collector Ali Akbar Zedi, Deputy Collector Palwasha Syed and other officials of the customs department were also present on the occasion.
Chief Collector Samaira Nazir and Collector Zulfiqar talking to media said that in order to express love with the Pakistan every individual should discharge his duty with devotion, commitment and with honesty of purpose.
They added that Pakistan was made as a result of countless sacrifices of our forefathers and every one of us should respect the country and do utmost to make it an invincible power that could vie with the world challenges in the 21st. They urged the customs’ officials to work hard for the development and growth of the department.
On the other hand, the officials of customs expressed their allegiance for the cause of the country and vowed to put all their efforts, abilities and energies for the wellbeing and prosperity of the homeland.
