LAHORE: Customs Investigation and Prosecution lodged FIRs in 31 cases, covering an amount of Rs 330 million during Financial Year 2014-15, sources told Customs Today here.
According to detail, the Customs I&P registered three cases worth Rs 1.5 million, four cases of illegal gold jewellery, gold biscuits worth Rs 82.51 million, 10 FIRs of illegally imported mobile phones worth Rs 22 million, two cases of betel leaf worth Rs 27 million and one case of tyres smuggling worth Rs 6.5 million .
Similarly, the Investigation and Prosecution registered one case each of culture media worth Rs 0. 44 million, arms worth Rs 0. 030, one case electronic goods worth Rs 25 million, one case of petroleum products worth Rs 3. 50 million and one case of LED TVs worth Rs 10 million.
The I&P also registered cases of gold bar and foreign currency, plastic dana and liquor worth Rs 96 million.
The cases were registered on the instructions of Collector of Customs Mukarram Jah Ansari under the supervision of Customs Superintendent Mumtaz Ajmal Mian and by Investigation Officers Usman Azad and Ghulam Nasir.
