Customs links clearance of Int’l Industries Ltd consignments with lab test

KARACHI: The Research and Development (R&D) Section of the Model Customs Collectorate-MCC of Appraisement-East has linked the clearance of International Industries Limited (IIL) consignments with the laboratory test.

The sources in R&D Section confirmed Customs Today that the International Industries Limited has filed the Goods Declaration (GDs) having the description of ‘plastic dana’ and tried to clear those consignments through green channel.

During the examination, the Pakistan Customs authorities found that the importer has not filed its GDs according to the scanned price of the commodity.

The huge difference in duty/taxes compelled Customs authorities to send the description for laboratory test.

Sources further revealed this scribe that the description filed by the International Industries Limited (IIL) would be sent for laboratory test either to HEJ Laboratory or PCSIR for the authenticity of the description and after the lab report final decision would be taken in this regard.
