MEXICO: CBP officers at the DeConcini crossing located 43 pounds of meth hidden within the rear cargo areas of the smuggling vehicle.
Customs and Border Protection officers arrested three people in two different drug smuggling attempts last week.
All three suspects are from Mexico.
Border agents seized a total of 45 pounds of methamphetamine in incidents .
Two people were arrested on Saturday at the Dennis DeConcini crossing, and seized 43 pounds of meth worth $129,000.
They were identified as Jorge Gutierrez-Medina, 35, and his passenger, 46-year-old Lucia Quintanilla-Najar.
A CBP narcotics-detection dog led officers to the rear cargo area of the vehicle, where the meth was found.
A day earlier, another person was arrested. Officers referred a vehicle driven by Diana Guadalupe Cruz-Delgadillo, 21, for further inspection.
A drug detection dog alerted officers to two pounds of meth worth $6,000, concealed in her undergarments.
The suspects were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
