Customs Tribunal reserves judgments in two appeals

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal, Single & Double Bench, heard 21 cases and adjourned all for different dates without those cases whose verdicts were reserved. The judgments of three appeals were reserved to pass the final order.

The Division Bench-I, comprising Justice retired Malik Manzoor Hussain, Chairman, and Saud Imran, Member Technical, heard 16 cases including Maerk Pakistan against Directorate Multan Unit DG Khan, Beijing Prints versus Customs Faisalabad, Abdul Baseer versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad, New Allied Motors versus Customs Lahore, Barkat Ali versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad and Sun Crop Pesticide versus Directorate Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Lahore.

Furthermore, the same bench heard cases of Ghulam Murtaza versus Customs Faisalabad, A M Steel Furnace versus Directorate Multan Unit DG Khan, Khadim Hussain versus Customs Multan, Abdul Malik versus Customs Lahore three appeals, Khan Eziz versus Customs Lahore, Shahzad Textile versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Lahore, Muhammad Arshed Butt versus Customs Lahore and Arshed Fareed versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Lahore.

The Single Bench-I, comprising Muhammad Shabbir Gujjar, Member Judicial, heard eight cases including Sungro Pvt versus Directorate Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Lahore, Ahmed Fine Textile versus Customs Multan, Penna Oversease versus Customs Sambrial’s three appeals, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Multan versus Suliman, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad versus Ahmed Nasir, Customs Multan versus Pervaiz and Directorate Post Clearance Audit Lahore I C Master.

The Bench-I, Member Technical Saud Imran, heard an appeal of Atta Ullah versus Customs Lahore, Raheem Noor versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Lahore, Muhammad Yousaf versus Customs Sialkot and Teflon Metal Wares versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad.

After the complete hearing of all the reserved cases, the Customs Appellate Tribunal has reserved verdicts in two appeals whose orders will be passed soon.
