Dell unveils Android 5.0 Lollipop tablet Venue 10 7000 with quad core Intel Atom Z3580 processor

LONDON: Dell has introduced a new tablet for Android portfolio, the Venue 10 7000.

The new tablet has a premium design and is based on the same design as the Venue 8 7000.

Dell has also announced an update to Android 5.0, Lollipop to enhance productivity.

The keyboard available with tablet is magnetic and detachable which can be position the tablet in five different configurations – tablet, slate, stand, tent and clamshell models.

The new tablet has MaxxAudio Mobile by Waves and front firing stereo speaker which enables users to enjoy immersive audio.

Venue 10 7000 comes with a quad core Intel Atom Z3580 processor and Intel RealSense snapshot depth camera that allows user to take a depth map of every captured picture.

Both the Venue 10 and Venue 8 will ship with Android 5.0, Lollipop, and will be enabled for Android for Work.

This platform makes it possible for business and personal information to securely coexist on one device while creating a reliable method for the mobile workforce to use the tablets for work and play.

Based on Android 5.0, Lollipop, the Venue 10 5000 is one of the first tablets to be certified with Google Play for Education and its configuration is tailored for education.

The Venue 10 7000 will be available on Dell.com in the US, Canada and China in May 2015 and starts at USD $499; $629 with keyboard.

The Venue 10 5000 is available in the US and select countries around the world starting at $299; $349 with keyboard.

Recently Microsoft announced Surface 3, the next addition to the Surface tablet family starting for $499 which will run on Windows 8.1.
