LAHORE: A fact sheet issued by the Institute of Policy Reforms (IPR) has revealed that the loss of power transmission remained at 18.5 percent for the year 2013-14. The fact sheet concluded that the load shedding is expected to continue well into the year 2017.
The fact Sheet estimated that the gap in the peak demand exceeded to 4,500 MW, while daily average shortfall increased to 10 hours in some areas, including Multan and Quetta.
In addition to the line loss, under recovery of bills remained a concern. On the aggregate, Distribution Companies (DISCOs) and K-Electric combined recovered 11 percent less than the amount billed in 2013-14, while Quetta recovered only half of the amount.
