DI&I seizes consignment of Milestone Textile Ltd for taking undue advantage

KARACHI: Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation, Karachi seized a consignment of polyester knitted stretchable fabric on April 29, 2014 at West Wharf. The goods were cleared from the Karachi Port.

Sources further informed Customs Today that benefit of SRO 492(1)/2009 was wrongly claimed by the importing company, Milestone Textile Limited Karachi. The amount of duty and taxes was worked out to be Rs 5.839 million.

Sources further told Customs Today that the same importer has already got cleared three consignments of identical goods. The importer is exerting undue pressure on Directorate General I&I. No legal action has been taken or FIR registered in this case yet.
