 Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations to take action against 435 departments

KARACHI: THE Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue government of Sindh has decided to take action against 435 departments whICH are avoiding to deposit sales tax.

Sources told Customs Today that Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation has already started sending notices to these departments, which includes DIG Investigation, Population Department and other notables  institutions.

Sources further disclosed that they have sent notices to these departments asking them to submit list of monthly expenditures but they failed to clear the outstanding dues in this regard. Sources said that some departments starts sending them monthly expenditure statements but after passage of some time they again failed to submit the same.

According to rules all departments are bound to submit details of their monthly expenditures after deducting 20 percent sales tax from it. Sources said that because these departments are not submitting expenditure lists so they are indulging in tax evasion of billions of rupees.
