Dubai Chamber invites young emiratis to join its departments

DUBAI:  As part of its efforts to get on board more Emiratis, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry invited young jobseekers to join its different departments during its participation in the Careers UAE 2015, running at the Dubai World Trade Centre from April 28 to 30.

With its target of raising the ratio of Emiratis in the organisation to 60% by the end of the year, Dubai Chamber’s participation in Careers UAE 2015 is to employ qualified national cadres who are capable of offering their expertise and services to the multinational business community, the citizens and the country efficiently.

Essa Al Zaabi, Senior Vice-President, Institutional Support Sector, Dubai Chamber, informed that the Chamber launched the ‘Fursa: Together We Shape Your Future’ programme for training and placement of fresh graduates two years ago under which 31 new graduates were trained and 18 hired on a permanent basis in various departments of the organisation thus taking the employment ratio of Emiratis at the Chamber to 58%.

Al Zaabi also informed about job vacancies for Emiratis at Dubai Chamber’s Business Support, Centre for Responsible Business (CRB), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), Economic Research, Policy Advocacy, Member Relations and Membership and Documentation Services departments as well as the placement opportunities under Fursa for new graduates to train and absorb them to work in the various departments alongside 30 different nationalities who serve over 170,000 members.

Dubai Chamber scored 90.1% in Employee Satisfaction at the recent 18th session of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP) Awards as the Chamber values the commitment and professionalism of its staff and pays extra attention to their wellbeing by offering a right working environment and incentives that help enhance their efficiency and creativity to perform to the best of their abilities.

Recently, Dubai Chamber won the Dubai Human Development Award – Government Sector, organised by the Dubai Department of Economic Development, for its efforts in strengthening the culture of institutional excellence and human resources development in the organisation.
