DUBAI: A man who allegedly tried smuggling marijuana through the Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course has been indicted in a Laredo federal court, records show.
On Tuesday, a grand jury charged Maclovio Osorio-Villegas with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 100 kilograms or more of marijuana and possess with intent to distribute 100 kilograms or more of marijuana.
If convicted, he faces up to 40 years behind bars.
U.S. Border Patrol said they recently detained Osorio-Villegas after they responded to a smuggling report at the golf course.
