Maryam Al Shamsi, Head of Dubai Customs’ Ladies Committee, said that DC’s marking of World Food Day, celebrated every year on October 16, aims at raising awareness of the issues behind poverty and hunger, as well as general health.

She added that members of the Ladies Committee distributed healthy food samples to employees, as part of their effort in spreading awareness of the importance of consuming health, well-balanced meals.

World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on October16 in honour of the date of the founding of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization.
