DUBAI: Dubai Customs along with many other big departments will participate in Careers UAE 2015 that take place from April 28 to 30 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Big names that will be participating at the annual fair are including, Dubai Customs, Dewa, Dubai Land Department, Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, Al Futtaim Group, Al Habtoor Group, Commercial Bank Of Dubai, Department Of Tourism & Commerce Marketing, DP World, Dubai Chamber Of Commerce & Industry, Emirates Group, Emirates NBD and Flydubai are among many other exhibitors.
Candidates can expect to meet several participating companies from across the UAE looking to hire qualified local talent.
More than 160 exhibitors are expected to attend the fair – including multi-national companies, academic institutions, global industry leading corporations and raft of UAE-based organisations.
This year’s edition is expected to draw more than 18,000 visitors and prospective job applicants.
There will also be a ladies-only session on Wednesday, April 29 from 10am-1pm and the next slot will be from 1pm-7pm.
“Careers UAE 2015 will build on the foundations laid by previous editions to enhance its standing as an essential industry networking and educational platform that provides exclusive opportunities for public and private sectors to connect and engage with UAE National job candidates – whether fresh graduates or seasoned professionals,” said Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and CEO, DWTC.
The UAE government has addressed the UAE national workforce requirements by investing heavily in education.
In 2014, Dh9.8 billion – or 21 per cent of the Federal budget – was invested in education, of which Dh6 billion was spent on improving general education and Dh3.8 billion was directed towards academic excellence programmes in local universities.
With further investment in education due in coming years as part of the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda to develop a first-rate education system, fairs such as Careers UAE aim to assist highly-qualified Emirati graduates to get into the national workforce.
