The German authorities arrested a total of 11 suspects, including a Dutch national and two persons from Poland, while shutting down Germany’s largest online drug shop called ‘Chemical Revolution’, the General Prosecutor’s Office in Frankfurt announced. The detainees are suspected drug trafficking and other drug related crimes.

This investigation was launched with the arrest of a 26-year-old German in the spring of 2018. The German police believe the suspect stored drugs for the online store Chemical Revolutions. In Hessen and Niederschsen, the police seized a considerable amount of narcotics, including just under 50 kilograms of amphetamine, 16 kilograms of cannabis, 2 kilograms of MDMA, 900 grams of cocaine, 600 grams of heroin, and large number of ecstasy pills and so-called LSD trips.

The investigation that followed led to the arrests of 10 other suspects, including a 43-year-old Dutch man. This suspect was arrested in February with 14 kilograms of various narcotics in Hamburg, the Prosecutor said. He is suspected of procuring the drugs in the Netherlands and organizing their transport to Germany. Two Polish nationals, aged 44 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of acting as couriers for Chemical Revolution.

The other suspects are all from Germany. The main suspect is a 26-year-old man from Munich. According to the German authorities, he established Chemical Revolution in 2017 and operated it with the help of the other suspects. The dark web online store sold ecstasy, MDMA, amphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and cannabis and shipped these drugs all over the world, the Prosecutor said. The buyers paid in cryptocurrency.

All suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
