HELSINKI: Transport Malta announced on Tuesday that the M.V.’Barzan’, a vessel recognised as the world’s most environmentally friendly ultra-large container vessel, has been recently registered on the Malta flag.

Owned by the United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), the MV ‘Barzan’ is the largest kind with a loading capacity of 18,800 TEU in UASC’s fleet to date. It will set new standards for fuel and energy efficiency, due to optimised vessel design, an array of propulsion and equipment efficiency technologies.
