Efforts afoot to improve tax system, life of common man: Nehal

ISLAMABAD: Senator of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Nehal Hashmi Monday said that present government is making efforts to improve the tax collection system and life of common man.

Talking to a private news channel, he said that the federal government has presented the budget to provide relief to the masses.

He said that the prices of edible items were not increased in the budget. The government had revived a plant in Maripur area to produce energy.

To a question, he said that Gwadar Port would benefit the people of all areas including Sindh province.

“It is the responsibility of the provincial governments after the 18th amendment to utilize the resources to bring improvement in education, health and other social sectors,” he said.

Nehal Hashmi said that the government had increased the amount to help the deserving families through Benazir Income Support Programme.

To another question, he said that the present government after coming into power had to face number of challenges including terrorism, floods and the matter of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Senator said that PML-N government is taking important steps to achieve progress in all the sectors so that the common man could be provided relief in an appropriate manner.
