EIDPMO holds pre-departure briefing for Trade Mission to Oman

MUSCAT: Twenty-One Bruneian companies will be joining an official delegation led by the Energy and Industry Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (EIDPMO) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MoFAT) of Brunei Darussalam for a Trade Mission to the Sultanate of Oman.

This trade mission is being carried out in conjunction with the 2nd Brunei-Oman Joint Energy and Industry Seminar, an event organised jointly by EIDPMO and the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Sultanate of Oman. The seminar will take place at the Grand Hyatt in Muscat, on December 4-6 2016, with the theme ‘Strengthening Industrial Cooperation for Economic Growth and Development’.

The Bruneian companies joining the trade mission will represent a variety of sectors and business activities, including oil and gas, food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, ICT, Muslimah fashion, education and business services. Out of the 21 companies joining the delegation, eight micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) qualified for government sponsorship which covers accommodation, return flight tickets and the printing of promotional materials.

Yesterday saw the pre-departure briefing for the trade mission and seminar held at the Design and Technology Building at Anggerek Desa. Along with the participating companies, the briefing was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel Al-Maskari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam as well as Muhammad Norshafiee bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Deputy Permanent Secretary (IT, E-Government and Industry) at the Prime Minister’s Office.
