NEW YORK: Now mobile users can enjoy Flash videos on the web as Dolphin, a popular third-party web browser for Android, has been updated to deliver Adobe Flash support under Google’s latest Lollipop software for absolutely free.
Flash support used to be one of Android’s biggest advantages over iOS and other rival platforms, but with HTML5 slowly but surely taking over, Adobe stopped supporting the platform way back in 2012 following the release of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Now users must rely on web browsers with Flash support built-in.
Dolphin is one of those – and it’s the first to bring Flash support to Lollipop in its latest update. The release also brings the ability to sync Dolphin settings, speed-dials, themes, and more across all of your devices; page sharing via NFC; and a handy feature that automatically clears app data when device storage is low.
Dolphin still doesn’t sport a Material Design look yet, unfortunately, so it likely won’t replace Google Chrome for many. Having said that, it is a speedy browser, and it’s handy to have in your app drawer for when you do run into Flash videos you want to watch on the go.
