KARACHI: TPL, the private company designated to install the route monitoring system on all trucks carrying Afghan Transit Trade has demanded to broaden the proposed route parameters due to excessive alerts generated by even the minor route infraction.

Informed sources said that Company is concerned with the generation of excessive alerts resulting in overloading of its online real-time system monitoring the journey of trucks from the ports of Karachi till the crossing of border into Afghanistan. A highly-placed source confirmed the excessive alert generation, saying: “the tracking system installed on the trucks by the TPL is extremely sensitive to generate alert for even the minor route infraction.”
