Excise dept to issue notices to token tax defaulters in 36 Punjab districts

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has decided to issue notices to token tax defaulters in all 36 districts of the Punjab.

The notices would be issued to the owners of the vehicles who failed to pay token tax even in mid of the fiscal year.  The DG Excise Dept has directed the Motor Branches of all districts to maintain lists of the defaulters.

After preparing defaulter lists, the department will issue notices to the owners to pay tax otherwise strict action will be taken. The department has already waived the penalty on token tax till 31 December so that maximum people can pay tax before the deadline.
