Excise seizes documents of more than 160 vehicles in Lahore

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department has seized documents of more than 160 vehicles in the general holdup in Lahore on Friday.

The teams Lahore Excise Motor Branch intercepted vehicles by conducting an operation against the defaulters on different roads of the city. Sources said that millions of rupees would be received as token tax and penalty in this activity.

The Excise and Taxation Department has formed special teams to seize the documents of tax defaulter vehicles and impound those unregistered, while Motor Branch Director Suhail Arshad is supervising the campaign against such vehicles. During the past week, the Lahore Excise has seized documents of a number of token tax defaulter vehicles.

As per the details, the teams established checkpoints on Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Model Town, Multan Road, Raiwind Road, Ravi Road, Faisal Town and Shahdara toll plaza to check the documents of vehicles.
