Facebook introduces method to report fake news stories, hoaxes, superfluous pics, videos

LONDON: Facebook announced that user has an option to report fake news stories that appear on their newsstands.

This works in the same way as reporting a story as spam, according to Facebook’s blog.

When user click to hide a story user also have the option to report the content. Stories that include scams, or deliberately misleading news, are reported two and a half times more often than links to other news stories.

Posts that are reported frequently will be annotated with a message warning people that many others on Facebook have reported it.

Facebook assures that “satirical content intended to be humorous” will not be affected.
