Faisalabad ASO seizes non customs paid items worth Rs99.390m in FY 2016-17

FAISALABAD: The Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized Rs 99.390 million non customs paid goods, articles and vehicles from July 2016 to 30 June, 2017 of financial year 2016-17.

According to details ASO Faisalabad registered 89 cases and seized contraband goods and non customs paid items during the above said period.

The major non customs paid items seized by the ASO included cloth, plastic products, auto parts, iron and steel sheets, electronic goods, toiletries, generators, vehicles artificial leather, skimmed milk powder, cigarettes, fresh ginger etc. The ASO confiscated goods and articles under section 157 of the Customs Act, 1969.

The ASO impounded Rs 90.215 million vehicles and other contraband items in 92 cases during the fiscal year FY 2015-16.

The contraband goods and articles have been seized mostly on the information of Collector Customs Muhammad Sadiq, Additional Collector Customs Ghulam Mustafa, Deputy Collector Customs Usman Tariq.

The cases were conducted by Superintendents Javed Mehmood, Choudhary Muhammad Sardar and Inspectors Azhar Hussain Jafri, Amir Mumtaz Bajwa, Malik Atif Mumtaz, Bashir Ahmed, Faizi Raza, Safdar Ali.
