Faisalabad RTO collects Rs 17 billion in third quarter

FAISALABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO) Faisalabad has collected around Rs 17 billion during the third quarter (January-March) of the current financial year 2014-15 against the set target of Rs 20.41 billion.

The department achieved 83 percent of the target, while facing the shortfall of Rs 3.41 billion

According to details, in the category of income tax recovery, the Faisalabad Regional Tax Office was assigned the target of Rs 13.73 billion, while the department collected Rs 12.94 billion, achieving 94 percent of the target.

The FBR assigned Rs 6.5 billion target to the Sale Tax Wing of the Faisalabad RTO for the third quarter while the RTO could collect just Rs 3.73 billion during the said period.

Similarly, Faisalabad RTO has collected Rs 160 million as federal excise duty (FED) against the set target of Rs 270 million with the shortfall of Rs 110 million during the third quarter of the current fiscal year.

As a whole, Faisalabad RTO faced a shortfall of Rs 3.41 billion during the third quarter and it would be a hurdle in achieving the target set for this year.
