MULTAN: The Southern Punjab farmers have urged the Punjab government to withdraw agricultural taxes in order to provide relief to agriculture sector and farmers.
Addressing a press conference, renowned farmers of the Southern Punjab Main Aslam, Mian Mazhar and Mian Javed stated that the farmers of Southern Punjab have grave reservations regarding the imposition of new taxes in the provincial Budget 2015-16 on the agricultural sector.
More than 60 percent people are linked with the profession of agriculture in the Southern Punjab. Farmers are already facing severe financial losses due to less earning from the agricultural produces like cotton and wheat.
They said that the Punjab government have issued notices regarding the taxation over agriculture income which is not acceptable to them.
They have demanded that government should withdraw the taxes on the agriculture immediately as Pakistani economy depends on the agricultural growth.
