FBR faces shortage of vehicles for newly promoted officials

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is facing acute shortage of vehicles for officers recently promoted to Grade-20.

“Moreover 100 officers of the FBR are making ‘double’ hey while the sun shines, withdrawing vehicle allowance as per government Vehicle Transport Monetization Policy as well as using the official vehicles,” a source at FBR said.

The source said the FBR was required to overcome this anomaly to keep its image as operational organisation in the eyes of the public.

“128 officers of FBR (HQ) and field offices across the country have been given government vehicles under Transport Monetisation Policy and due procedure and criteria were adopted as laid down in the policy for Monetization of Transport Facility for civil servants of BS-20 to BS-22,” the source said, adding that under the said policy monthly vehicle allowance of Rs 65,000, Rs 77,000 and Rs 95,000 to officers of Grade-20, 21 and 22 respectively.
