FBR introduces new registration module of IRIS to facilitate taxpayers

KARACHI: Member (IT) and Secretary (IT) FBR, Raana Ahmed has introduced a new module of IRIS for registration of income tax and sales tax during a seminar conducted in collaboration with Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) in auditorium of RTO, Karachi.

On this occasion, Raana Ahmed highlighted the various aspects of the new registration module which was launched by the authorities concerned of FBR.

The Member FBR Raana Ahmed stated in the seminar that the rationale behind this Module is that the old system has become non-functional and the applications for new registration and change in particulars has become cumbersome, difficult and time consuming.

“This new registration will be on the basis of real time on internet, without human intervention and there will be no lengthy correspondence adding that the module is linked with National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA) and Security of Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) as well”, she added.

Addressing the participants, the Chief Commissioner of RTO, Karachi Muhammad Ali Indhar also welcomed suggestions given by the authorities concerned of FBR in the said module.

Muhammad Zubair, the President of Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) highlighted the issues of the taxpayers and bar members regarding IT.
