FBR issues Rs 36 million notice to Ayyan Ali

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue’s Inland Revenue Investigation and Intelligence has served notice on model Ayyan Ali to pay Rs 36 million income tax included amount of penalty.

As per the IR’s investigation, the supermodel was found involved in concealing income, tax evasion despite having taxable income, not filing tax returns and misleading the tax authorities. While in $500,000 currency smuggling case, Ayyan was also alleged as FBR officials could not detect the source of income which were revealed by her during interrogation.

Despite depositing the liable tax and penalty amount by the model, FBR will also seize the $500,000 if court issued judgement in favour of FBR.

The sources added that model was stagnant on her standpoint that she got such a huge amount after selling his plots which is still under the cloud of investigation as she could not prove the channel of this income so far.

On the other hand, case against the purchasers of the plots is also in the court.

FBR officials told that Ayyan was facing the case of currency smuggling in which she could be sentenced to 14 years jail after proven the allegations in the courts or be released.
